I grew up with the Spike Jones Christmas Album from the 1950's. Today, when I went to write this post my computer screen had black dots where my teeth show up on the header...bringing the song..."All I want for Xmas is my two front teeth..." to top of mind. Top of mind can be a fun place to be. And other times, not so. If you've been to the Passion Test Party, you know I talk about the programming we have running through our minds, and how we can modify it. It's so important what we feed our heads consciously.
Another song on the famous album we heard year after year (only to be played between Thanksgiving and New Years), was about this kid whining about the fact that his birthday had to come on Xmas....how his parents shouldn't have chosen that day to have him, how he gets jipped out of presents. ...What about the fact that he gets EVERY birthday off, and NO ONE forgets his birthday? Talk about whining.
I guess the point is it's important to look at what we're feeding our heads. So this year, with my mastermind group, we're paying special attention to what we have accomplished this year and what we can appreciate about who and where we are today. I also take the time to appreciate people who are no longer in my life, and the ways I am different in the world because of my time with them.
As this is a holiday post, I want to offer additional suggestions to you. If you're among those who has attended the Passion Test Party, but haven't gotten "The Passion Test" book yet, I've arranged a special deal with the Boulder Bookstore. In the west end of the basement they have books held for "classes". They are holding the book for a ten % discount, just mention my workshop. If you're thinking about coming, you can still get the discount.
The Passion Test Party is a terrific event to share with loved ones or someone you enjoy. Because of that I'm offering that anyone who signs up by December 24th, can bring a friend for free to the January 15th 2011 party, the first I'll offer for 2011. Maybe consider creating a new tradition by ending and starting the year with clarity around, and a focus on, living your passions.
If you have a favorite tradition you'd like to share, please comment below!
Sending love and joy, Susan
